yes I spend too much time at the computer. one of our
colleagues mentioned the Wacom Bamboo as an aternate device for those of us with repetitive stress elbows.

I do no drawing. Just surfing, email, office, and the occasional porn site. I tried the Bamboo and it did not make sense for my computing needs. But while playing with the Bamboo, I thought some sort of touch pad might be a great alternative.

I googled a bunch and stumbled onto the Adesso Smart Cat. I ordered one, installed it today, and think the engineering is simple, maybe brilliant.

It has two buttons like a normal mouse, but you can also clik and double clik by simply tapping your finger on the touchscreen.

Just an idea whose time has arrived in my home office.

Glad you are liking it...my Bamboo is now second nature ;-)

How well does the touchpad support right clicking? When I saw it, I wasn't sure how easy it would be to right click and then select from the pop-up menu without straining.

a little different than a two button mouse. the smart cat has the same two buttons as a mouse. they are at the bottom of the pad. this version also has two other buttons; one to the right of the pad and one to the left.

supposedly they are programmable with included software and i'd prefer the "normal" mouse buttons be on the left and right rather than at the bottom.

i will check out the programming today.

i like the idea of having the mousing control right in front of me so it is close to the body and makes it possible to use both hands.

can you say if you had an injury and did the roller mouse fix it?
