Per several suggestions I checked the tires and yes they needed to be reglued as some spots were exposed to the elements.

I have searched so many places and am now pleading for specific help.

I have the all the info on how to glue/tape/or both. Just practice and trial and error next.

I have the info on how to remove stuff from the rims.

But...nothing on what to do with the tires. I am hoping they will still work beautifully and seem in great shape. Do I and how...remove the glue from the tire? Everything I have read here and other spots says clean surfaces for tire and rim are ideal.

So how do you "clean up" the tire? Can you? Does it matter?

I think TooTall uses a rasp or file for this.

Look here:

edit: just re-read your post. If it's just glue on the tape, and it's not turned crusty,, just put'em back on. The new glue will activate the old. I thot you were talking about the latex covering 'from the factory'.

I can try the file, but I don't think he was taking glue off. It was the laytex layer of the new original tire.

If it doesn't do so well then i will just see how it works with the glue tape deal.
