Just because a guy has a big talent, it doesn't mean he is:
a) clever
b) knowledgeable about bikes
c) a saint
d) friendly
e) a good businessman


Of course many pros are nice guys and know their bikes well but there's a tendency to out there to assume that champion cyclists are somehow champion humans. Half the pros I've met are young guys who swapped education to spend their lives racing, they are more interested in tuning small cars, comparing mobile phones, swapping porno magazines than in comparing carbon rims or the discussing the best spoke for a custom build

No, I don't take a paycheck from pez or any manufacturer. Yeah, it would be tough to test equipment without receiving it, then using it. And yeah, companies tend to send their best stuff to be tested... Huge shock!
