I was hoping some forumites could help me with this frame I am eyballing here in CT.

Listed as a 90s era Paramount, but not much else given in terms of details. I'd guess the compnents are a mishmash and not original to the frame.

Here's a link to a photo:

and here is the ad itself.

Can anyone help ID the year and to confirm that it is indeed a Schwinn Paramount?

Thanks in advance!

Mark

Paramount info (http://www.waterfordbikes.com/2005/data/culture/paramount/index.php)

92 series 5 - I think.

Thanks!

Would that be a fair asking price?

I now realize these were Asian made frames and not Waterford built ones.

we don't know what components are on the bike nor what shape they and the frame are in but--I rode a couple of the Japanese built Paramounts and liked them. I liked the one with a carbon fork better than the one with an aluminum fork though. I never rode any with a steel fork but my Waterford surely rides well with its steel fork as well as a carbon fork.

If it fits and it doesn't need a lot of parts I doubt that you will find a better ride for $250.

Frame - $100 paramount (http://cgi.ebay.com/SCHWINN-PARAMOUNT-5-JAPAN-56-CM-ctc-forged-D-O_W0QQitemZ250235603781QQihZ015QQcategoryZ98084QQs sPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

Full bike -$225 Paramount 2 (http://cgi.ebay.com/Schwinn-Paramount-Classic-Steel-Road-Bike-Bicycle-54C_W0QQitemZ220218317601QQihZ012QQcategoryZ98084Q QssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

For whatever it's worth - that's the two I could find

wow thanks.

One final question - the forks on these were alunimum forks? Yes?
