I did listen to you all of you fine people about the Fixed bike for Italy. I spoke to the Jerk today and we changed my IF 953 fixed gear S&S coupled bike to a standard exact geometery S&S regular road bike. IF was able to make this change and it will be ready in mid May.
Thanks to everyone for their imput.

Congratulations! Hope you enjoy the trip on the derailleur-equipped bike. They've definitely got some spectacular hills in Italy.

I bet it will still be excellent.

I would have liked to see the 953, but I know they are having a terrible time getting the tubing in.

Can't wait to see it.

I feel a lot better now, even though its APRIL THE FRIGGEN 15th . Last year you posted a for sale add for a dream bike on this date (or maybe the day before), thanks for skipping that scene this year.
Enjoy the hills.

Sounds great. I didn't think they polished the 853 stuff only the 953. No worries,I am sure it wil look brilliant!

I am still waiting. ;)

The fixed-gear "thing" is growing in Italy as we speak, witness www.bicifissa.blogspot.com

Thats a super smart way to design a "travel" bike. No worries about paint chipping, etc...

My only suggestion would be to put some kind of clear plastic protector on the decals.

Enjoy!

THAT'S a confession?

Seems like the right call to me -- I hope it's a great trip.

They are under the clear coat.

They tend to stay pretty safe...from my experiences.

It would surprise me if they put a clear coat over a fully polished frame.

My experience with Moots Ti bike decals is that they are very fragile...and, the best way not to scuff them up is to put a clear plastic tape over them.

Just my experience, not familiar with polished 953 and IF decals.

Good luck!
