And then...in a galaxy far far away...

Bro the main character of the movie...he's lost, stopped at a railroad crossing, looking at a map and his first words are, "Leads you right to nowhere...M-Mary-ten, through M-Mary-12" as the lights from the UFO illuminate his map. The military abbreviation "Mary" was used intentionally, referencing the Mother of God. The railroad stop displays our human race at a crossroads and the fact the UFO has light up Dreyfuss' map shows us the aliens are trying to help us find our way. Dreyfuss' lucent hand on the map also asks the question, is he, are we being touched by the hand of God?

Then Dreyfuss looks out the window, the mailboxes start to explode...the aliens are sending us a message, literally to our mailboxes and this depicts the incoming hello. All heck breaks loose. Then it's silent. Then the first noise he hears is a dog barking, dog spelled backwards is God. Then it's dark, in a panic he flips on his flashlight and he freaks out at the light...now he's afraid of the light (God/UFO's) but he races after them out of curiosity.

He's flying down the road at highspeed, nearly kills a child, a young boy and Dreyfuss says, "Oh my God, lady are you okay?". Again, the main character is calling out to God. The young boy is fine, unharmed as he cheerfully leaves the arms of his mother to say hello to the lights, pointing at them and offering, "My friends" as they fly away. The young boy symbolizes hope for the human race, the innocent and open heart of a child may be able to communicate with the aliens.

The scene continues as Dreyfuss and the police chase after the UFO's. One policeman screams, "Jesus...look at them!" again referencing faith, a creator and the myth. The police and Dreyfuss race through a toll both which reads, 'OHIO', the aliens have stopped by to indeed say, "Hi, hello."

I might've made all this up bro, but this is what I get from that 8:19 scene. And I do believe in aliens.
