Jayzus don't put Tea Tree in any open wound omg we'll hear the scream 1000 miles away!!! Saddle sores are best treated after hrs. Use any good triple antibiotic ointment, it will heal alot faster. If you must ride during the day and covering it is impossible there is nothing you can do other than slather it with something occlusive like bag balm and hope for the best. Been there done that. We are talking about open-sores-and-you-have-no-choice-ride ok? If you can get access to very high quality calendula that is not farked up with fillers than mix that with your triple ointment it is magic. Good luck.

likewise, I use neosporin or a generic triple antibiotic too.

In addition to the above, the last few days I tried some of my son's Baby Bee Diaper Ointment by Burt's Bee's. I had a sore that was not open and was uncomfortable to ride on. I used the ointment over night and before the next day's ride and had no lingering effects.

Not a cure but a preventive measure.

Noxema applied to affected skin area post-ride.

Once you're on the mend, shower ASAP after your ride - I got myself in trouble last week by staying in my shorts & tights for a good two hours post-ride.

I'm almost back to normal now, and pretty much ran from the bike to the shower yesterday...

Dr. Scholl's doughnut-shaped bunion cushions to protect the area. Don't buy generic substitutes because they won't stick.

If the sore is a pimple or a boil, Clearasil adult acne cream (with sulphur, not the oxy stuff). The sulphur in the cream dries it out.

I've only experienced a very mild sting when applied to an open wound.

Now I wonder if we have the real stuff and I'm saddle hardened or we have some fake chinese import!

Climndamycin Phosphate.

What about "Glaxowaxotonic Phospate, it's the latest scoop, but that's alright girls, you can call it goop."

Preparation H works well on bumps and other weird stuff, but do not use it on open wounds. Only trouble is that the stuff hits its expiration date quickly if you only use it occasionally.

I was really afflicted with minor saddle sores. First preventive for me was lowering the nose of my saddle (Regal) even just a little bit and my chronic saddle sore problem disappeared. I know its kind of eeww but a dollop of bag balm or even Vaseline "down there" before a ride can also help immensely.

very ripe bananas, mashed into your chamois.

At least Meatball (Mike Friedman) thinks it works.
