The real reason Trek let him go is because they found out Greg was linked to all these China/Olympic Torch attacks.

Greg was going to be quoted as saying that the torch runners are all on drugs, and he should be the one selected every year to hold the torch because he is and always has been clean. He was tired of the snub.
