Dear Folks,

I'm going to be in San Diego a few weekends from now while on a brief hiatus during a two week work odyssey across the west. I have not been to SD before.

On that Saturday I would like to rent a road bike and loose myself in an epic ride of tremendous physical exertion and enjoyment.

Does anyone have suggestions on a good place to rent a decent road bike and routes?

Thank you.

Another great shop with Rentals is BL Bike and sport

Nytro is near the Solana Beach store. BL sport also has a store in San Diego and both rent road bikes!! Torrey Pines is a ride.

Dittos on Nytro. The rental bikes are Cervelo Soloists (Al version). On Saturday mornings, the Swami's lite ride starts at Nytro at 8 (actually leaves around 8:10 to 8:15) and a few minutes later the Swami's ride, which leaves from B&L rolls by. Swami's Lite is the Swami's club ride and the B&L ride is referenced as Big Swami's. The route is the same, but the club version is a bit less crazy and not as fast, though you can go plenty hard if you stay at the front. Generally, there are a number of guys (generally the faster ones) on Big Swami's who continue on to Lake Wolford or Valley Center from the Church that is the regrouping point on both rides.
