that could possibly be the dumbest thing I've ever seen ;)

Does SRAM make a 177.5 or 180?

No, they said they were going to make a 180 in their Red Group, but only offer up to 175.

Actually the RED cranks do come in a 177.5 and they are available now.

Shimano has been the choice of most every team that has sram as a sponser--I don't blame them.

Looks like they didn't cover all the Dura-Ace labels...check out the chainring...

Are all the bikes like that? I wonder if the cause is the Trek/Shimano press in BB cups.

While I know that Sram requires it, it's almost worse that they cover up the Dura Ace label. If there's a more identifiable/unique crank out there, I have yet to see it.

It's gotta be the BB shell then. I think the only way we're going to see SRAM cranks on those top end Treks is when they go back to a standard BB shell or someone makes a run of cups to allow for SRAM bearing fitment. Either way it's a bit of an embarrassment eh?

See, that's clearly why they're not running RED cranks - they have a design fault that makes you fall off...

It happens all the time. Mostly, I have seen wheels either de-badged or re-badged. Anyway, Sram does have the longer lengths now. I just installed a set of 177.5 cranks and love them. They seem to shift better than the Force cranks that they replaced.

FWIW - SRAM is introducing a BB30 compatible Red crankset for '09. It was on display at Sea Otter and can be seen at cyclingnews.com
