I Want Sachs?

My local bike shop has Selle SMP which looks like a cutout saddle with a broken nose.

Does anyone have experience with them? My favorite right now is Brook B17, but still not perfect. I am wondering whether I want to spend $200 to try them out.

Competitve Cyclist does not have them on their program.

They make a "Plus" model which is much wider than the others...If you like the B-17, then this model may suit you better than the skinnier ones.

I'm still trying one out, not sure...Going between this and the Specialized Toupe Gel in 155 width...Time will tell.

Good luck!

unfortunately only one way to find out. try it.
there are, of course, many saddles for much less that seem to work for a bunch of folks. if you don't need the bling.
smp does make a cheaper model around $100 I think, and if you hated the expensive one you probably could flea-bay it for a reasonable loss

You can pay $20 to try SMP's. Also see the Competitive Cyclist saddle demo program and an LBS near you may have a Selle Italia demo program.

There are several 30-day money back guarantee options if you look for them. Thankfully, it is getting less expensive to try out quality saddles and there are more reviews and information available than ever on how to best adjust them and what has and has not worked for various size people.

That seems like a good program. I will give it a try. The website did say that there's a waitlist, so I will see how long the wait it.
