anyone using iphoto?

i know it's pretty low brow but it does the job for me.

having a problem though.

when i select an image and hit the 'adjust' button i get the panel with various ways to tweak the image.

a number of times i have selected the 'sharpness' button and made the image sharper on screen. however when i save the image by clicking on another one it reverts back to the softer image and the sharpness is lost.

am i doing anything wrong? why can i view it sharper on screen but it won't save?

is there another simple free program i could use to better tweak the images?

any advice/help much appreciated!

Actually it works pretty well---but Photoshop it isn't...

Try here: http://www.apple.com/support/iphoto/

This is somewhat normal, especially for older versions of iPhoto. Don't worry, you have the sharper image saved. It's just that the displayed panel image has been compromised to save space. If you look at your new file size, you will see that it's quite a bit larger than the original. Also, if you upload the image to a hosting site and, view it in full res you can definitely see the sharpened image.

I think the new versions of iPhoto circumvented this but, I am not sure.
