Does anyone have experience with these?

They'll be replacing a set of Ultegra brakes from 2000-2001.

Thanks
T.

Your ultegra brakes probably work better than the cannondale ones will.

The Cannondale brakes work fine.

They actually have a pretty strict in-house testing procedure at Cannondale,
and all the parts they spec have to pass a lot of torture. They don't just
pick a part number out of a catalog, and slap it on the bikes.

That said, it's just a dual pivot design, that's virtually a clone of just about
every other brake caliper out there. It's not going to change your day, if you
know what i mean...

I've got a chance to buy these for $80 from someone (not a forum member). They've got about 1700 miles on them.

Deal or no deal?

I'm not necessarily looking to save weight or stop better than my current Ultegra brakes. I just happen to have a black serotta with black decals and black everything (except for crank and brakes). I'd love a set of record or Mavic brakes but they're generally out of my price range.

Thanks

... that current-generation Shimano 105 (BR-5600) calipers come in black and feature a screened logo that is easily removed with various types of toxic waste-in-a-can. With logo deleted they look very cool. With D-A 7800 pads they stop very well. They don't cost a lot of money - probably less than a pair of Rapha socks, in fact.

If the rest of the bike is sufficiently bling no one will know the difference and, if someone were so bold as to make a polite inquiry, you can say they are Shimano prototypes used by BMC in the '06 Tour and won in a raffle.

I would buy black 105 brakes. Or save for a later upgrade.
