I know this is a long shot, but the collective knowledge on this forum never ceases to amaze me. Does anyone know the best/most economical way to get from Sevilla, Spain to the South of France (esp. Avignon...Marseilles seems to be the closest large city)? The flights on AirFrance are out of sight cost wise and RyanAir doesn't seem to make this trip. I will be in Sevilla May 7-10...any recommended sights to take in?

You are going to miss the flamingo festival (April). That is a trip!
Just walk around the old town.
Have some Jamon and rioja.
I suppose flights would be cheaper from Madrid. There is a high speed train from Sevilla but I'm sure it's not cheap.
You could always rent a car (do it from the US it's cheaper). A long but interesting drive.
Remember the exchange rate - bring bags of $$$.
Enjoy!

find out the nearest airport used by ryanair and take a train there.
they use a lot of smaller a little out of the way airports...
there are a couple of other super low cost airlines also...
if you can do it it works..
baggage is tres' cher so watch out if you have a lot of weight ( like a bike )

Ryanair or EasyJet are probably the cheapest ways to do it even if you have to connect somewhere. You can't really connect on those airlines AFAIK, but just buy seperate tickets from Sevilla to whereever and from whereever to Avignon or whichever airport they serve closest to Avignon. Then take a train.
