Eddy Merckx 1XM

I have a chance to pick up a new Merckx 1XM at a very reasonable price. Frankly, I can't quite figure out why an Italian-made carbon bike bearing the name of Eddy Merckx is so cheap. I know it was at the bottom of their carbon line-up, but would it be a reasonable second bike (for rain, trainer, travel, etc.)? Does anyone have insight on the bike? Thanks.
