Those prices sound about standard for those companies, and should teach us to be grateful that the regular Post office exists and can get things done in about the same time as UPS for so much less $.

imho etc blah blah.

USPS is taxpayer subsidized agency. They don't get things done for less.

. . . the USPS rate wasn't for "surface mail?" I think that means they put it on a boat. It's cheaper but takes from here till eternity.

Let's see: you send it by large courier company and pay X, or you send it by US Post and pay much less.

Package arrives either way, so let's see:

1. The things you wanted got done.

2. For less.

Where your taxes go after you pay them is irrelevant in this scenario - whether you ship by US Mail or by FedEx will make no difference to your tax - but feel free to start a different thread on that.

use two large size, flat rate boxes at 12x12x5 for
about 38 dollars each. atmo it's a no brainermo.

ps it's a usps priority mail size i'm talkin' bout.

HE is not paying the true cost of shipping that item with USPS. That is why it is so much cheaper. OUR tax dollars are paying for some of it.

The USPS is self funded out of its revenues and does not receive any taxpayer subsidy. It may have in the old days, but not any more.

yeah, I think the subsidized deliveries are mainly going to Afghanistan and Irak, but some of them have been reported lost, too, so you never know. Happy 5th annniversary of the invasion.
