I realize that check writing is starting to become extinct. Personally I still like the old school way of writing and placing my signature on a check as opposed to pointing and clicking.

My question is for thoose of you forumites who still use checks, do you have the plain color checks or a themed version? For the last several years my checks from LaSalle Bank had the marathon logo on the check, but know since Lasalle bank is becoming Bank of America theese checks will not be available. There is not any cycling or running backgrounds on the order page. Any commets?

classic safety blue for me
there are 2 things about checks that have changed, that used to be important:
1. post-dating; i.e. (for those who haven't been around). if a bill is due March 1st, you could send a check on Feb. 14, but dated March 1st, and in principle, it wouldn't be cashed until then
2. they actually read your signature and may have even been able to tell if it was a forgery; well, I doubt that, I guess, but nowadays you could sign the check as "Mickey Mouse, esquire, up yours" and it would still go through
just my retro-grouch contrarian view
