Okay, winter is coming to an end, Spring has sprung. The maiden voyage is hours away, please vote.

The Team 7-Eleven certainly. If you live in weather like me it will be underneath a thermal shirt, jacket and windfront tights so it doesn't really matter. Just wear the old, nasty nashbar jersey and shorts...no one will know.

My Winter gear is still in use. I snuck in a 30 miler before work today and I got caught in a little rain at around 37 degrees. I noticed that the polar ice floe is receding at North Park lake, though. The lighter clothes (and shoes) will come out very soon I hope.

bro, i turned left instead of right, on the way home after work,
and did 120 minutes in jeans, flat pedals, and my kryptolock
hanging on the bars.

slush, running water, sun going down...

best ride of 2008 :)

my kinda man. the poll sucks for choices, tho the idea is good. there should a be none of the above. of course it should be first "spring" ride, not first outdoors cos come of us fools go out sub-zero or thereabouts. my accoutrements:
1. never shorts alone. only fools go shorts only (you know the baked lobster legs look) unless it's 65-70. I wear my moth-eaten 20 year old smart wool tights. if it's warm enough for the thawing drifts. they don't mind the salty snow run-off and I don't mind them going through it. and they stay warm when wet. after that any old jersey over a T, and if it's warm enough to go arm warmers alone, some d-feets (the best) and the pearl izumi removable-arms jacket that turns into a vest. if it's already vest only time, it aint the first outdoor ride, not around these parts. and never the pro-kit. that's for poseurs and team riders or former team riders. course, all others need not apply, unless it's vintage kelme or 7-11 where you win point for style. but I save that good old stuff for the real nice weather, not March.

One of my small joys is getting the clothing just right for any weather.
It starts in the high summer when it's just shorts and a light jersey.

As the Fall weather comes you add long sleeves and tights, moving to
gloves and shoe stuff.

At some point you move into balaclava, hat, fleece layers, Jacket etc.

After some time, you can just glance at the temp, wind and sky and you
know what to grab.

It's one of the little moments for art in daily life.

The 7-Eleven replica jersey is awesome. Mine isn't quite as cool (my version is made by Solini) but you get the idea:

First ride.........that will be in about 45 minutes. Bibs, with tights. Wicking undershirt with long-sleeved no-name jersey. Topped with PO Vagabond jacket. Helmet, gloves and shoes, of course. And the most important part, pearl-white '97 CSI.
