I'm not particularly astute when it comes to digital (or any, for that matter) photography. My photos usually come out slightly too big to post, even with my camera set on the smallest size possible.

I know that other threads have been posted on this, but I found a free site that is pretty much idiot proof and will resize easily and quickly. I'm sure there's better ways out there, but this one works well for me.

Thanks much.

Another good piece of freeware that I use to resize my pics is Mihov Imager Resizer http://www.imageresizer.com/

Anytime I wanna post pix here,, I run'em through the abovementioned re-sizer.

Never had a problem.

I use plain-ol' Window's Paint. Click on 'Image', 'stretch/skew' and change the percentage on the opened photo from 100% to what I think is a reasonable level based on my camera's setting. With my new box where everything is shot high-res and at 12mp, I find 18% for both Horizontal and Vertical plain perfect. Your results might differ so some testing might be necessary.

I now use PSE6, but good ol' Paint works every time.

Windows Picture Manager is also really easy. Open the pic in picture manager and click the button on the right that says "size for the internet" or something similar - save it and you're done.

Cheers!

An oft overlooked image software is Irfanview. It's small and simple yet powerful and always FREE for personal use.

The resize/resample option allows for percentage or specific size selection. Easy stuff.

and it has no flashing banner ads. ;)
