Anyone know of any bike shops in the SFO / Burlingame area that rent decent quality bikes?

I'm in the area every couple of months for work. I generally only go back and forth from the hotel to our offices, and co-workers all have cars for client meetings etc. So I'm thinking of renting a bike in stead of a car on the next trip.

The alternative would be to buy a bike and leave it out there, but I'm not so sure there is enough bike budget left for that right now.

I rented from Blazing Saddles for one day last November, and it was fine:

They give you a map of some nice day rides, and that would have some value.

But in your case, I'd buy an old bike and leave it there. I've bought several old bikes in the $50 to $180 range that are really pretty good bikes - not light or fashionable, but fit and ride pretty well. And being old, they are totally not targets of thieves, which is a major plus if you will be parking in the city, and maybe parking it outside for extended periods where you are home.

I think you may find info on this in the archives. We have had lots of threads on finding good rental bikes in different areas.
