I noticed tonight that Serotta has added matte and polished decals to their list of decals. I have been kicking myself since I got mine that I didn't have the matte/polished thing done. Does anyone know what a serotta decal kit costs?

The matte/polished decals are bare metal and I think it's an upcharge of around $200. The regular decal kits go for $40.

the polished/matte logos are so much cooler in person than in a picture. there is just no good way to photograph them and do them justice

I was just getting ready to order some for my downtube. What is the Matte decal used on the polished ti made of - the only comp I have with the bike is because there is no clear over the decal, they get pretty scummy pretty quick. This could be a great solution for me if they are made of metal as the poster above mentioned, thanks

I believe the matt & polished 'decals' are actually a surface finish on Ti frames. Not decals at all.

Kurt,
it is not a decal. it is more like a polished frame with a bead blasted Serotta logo. This is not something that can be removed. The reverse is a matte finished frame with polished logos, or you can get panels. Like a polished frame with a matte pannel with polished letters. you can also reverse the whole thing. Check out my pix under Dirtdiggers Legend, the older ones show the logos the best

I think I misunderstood, I though they came out with some sort of new metal decal (cool idea) - I know what the existing deal looks like cause my so has it on her legend. I was excited about the idea of not replacing decals all the time. Thanks.

My bad on the mis-understanding guys. I meant to say the decal was actually the Ti treated with a matte or polished finish to make it look like a decal. Dirtdigger is right as it's really hard to get a good picture of the polished/matte decals. They really do look much better in person.
