Andrew Symonds is a big guy. He nearly quit cricket about 6 years back to play top level Rugby. Apparently the streaker is feeling a bit sore and bruised today.

The hit on the streaker could have landed him in trouble with cricket officials and the Police. Luckily for Symonds, cricket officials declined to charge him and the streaker, who was fined $1500, laughed it off. Australia lost the match and the series, so the hit on the streaker probably diverted some attention from the result.

It was a great hit. But, it could have been worse.

Yep, if, as frequently happens in Australian Rules Football, his head had hit the ground following the bump and knocked him out, Symonds would have been in all sorts of strife. It made good TV, but it was a bit of a dumb thing to do.

Streaker's already had his day in court, and was fined $1500. That's peanuts. Hell, I know corporate whores (oh yeah, captains of industry) who would pay that for a dinner with Andrew Symonds and 1000 other people... much as I did with Miguel Indurain the other month...
