How well do they work? 100% as well as correctly mated drivetrains?

Any down-sides?

TIA

They work very well. The setup may cause some loss of religion, and they weigh more than 2 cm of housing, but they do the job.

Approaching 3 years with no problems.

Campy brifters and derailers, XTR hubs, Ultegra or Sram road cassettes.

Anyone know if there is a hub with better flange spacing than a XTR ?

They work extremely well until the cable slips on the pulley. I've only seen cable slipping on a tandem though and fixing it is just a matter of releasing tension, and resetting the pulley position. Even with this problem, I'd still use one to go from (all 9 speed) Campy shifters to a Shimano MTB rear derailleur/cassette.

I've got them on my cross bike and TT bike. Works well atmo.

Fabulous. Love 'em. The comment from my previous hoity-toity LBS in CA: "We thought they were sooo ghetto, but now we're stocking 'em."

... they work great. I have full Shimano bikes and full Campy bikes and I think the best/quickest shifting setup overall is on my Hampsten- Chorus 10 shifters, a Dura-Ace 10 RD, 9 speed Shimano cassette and chain, and a JTek.

Cheers.
