Jim,

I used to live in Hampton and Newport News. Now live in
Williamsburg. What brings you to Hampton?

My local bike shop is in Williamsburg with other stores in Newport News and Va. Beach (Bike Beat). I don't think they rent bikes, and I don't know of any that do.

When are you going to be in Hampton? If it's in the near future I will see what I can find.

I know they have more than one location in the Norfolk/VA Bch area. I don't know about the Hampton side, though. Might be worth checking out on-line.

Jim,

I sent an e-mail to a friend who is the shop owner of the Newport News Conte's Bike Shop. I will see if they have any rentals and let you know.

Jim

You and Sam like slightly differing attributes in your bikes but Quality is something you both value.

Even if you don't borrow one, it's worth a trip to look at what he has.

i can ride most 55-57 tt bikes, 54 the saddle to bar drop gets bad for me. 58 usually the reach is long with a 100 stem, and i don't like going less than 100mm stems.
thanks

Jim, check your private messages. I live in Williamsburg, about 30 minutes from hampton. You may be able to get a bike there.

I ride a 58 ctc and the only bike with a threadless stem that could be shortened easily is an Colorado Al with a 58 cm TT. I'll follow up on Frank's email to the owner of Conte's. I know he had a Fondriest trade in w/9S Record about a month ago that was around a 55. He might be interested in renting...
