I kind of hate myself for this, but Keno's question was stuck in my mind like some old bubblegum song... I guess it takes a sick mind to be a cyclist.

I had both my Garmin 305 and Campy ergo-brain - set at 2096 on my ride this AM, so I figured I'd see how close they were.

Distance was off by .09 mile - less than 1%.
Average speed was off by .1 mph - almost 1%.
Max speed was off by .3 - about 1%.

In all cases, the Ergobrain was about 1% higher than the GPS. Now I can stop losing sleep at night!

don't remember what i set the cyclocomputer to, whatever they said for 23s, didn't even bother with the rolling test. i frequently have the exact same milage and ave speed as my friend gets off his garmin. no biggie to get this right.

You guys are aware of the Golden Rule, aren't you? At the end of a ride with multiple computers available (on yours or someone else's bike), you always record the highest mileage and avg speed shown - even if each number is on a different computer.
