Im with you I like miles too. I thought about "adjusting" my wheel calibration number but htat just seems like cheating. Switching to kms is so Euro and sophisticated. I suppose that I could ride more but I need to wait for the electric duraace because my fingers just get to tired from shiffing all the time.

If you use a compact crank you should run km's. That way you end up with the same numbers at the end of the season.

that says Baltimore 27 miles, I don't live in Baltimore, but the route I take from there is almost exactly 27 miles to get home.

Sometimes it's cool if I'm bored to try and figure that out the miles in K when riding. let's see,... 27x1.61 = hmmmm, about an hour and a half later I'm home, gave up on the conversion and thinking about a cold beer.

Oh yeah, it's about 43.5k or something, I'm so much better at stuff with a beer in my hand.

That takes too much effort. Just add a second magnet to your wheel & voila, double your miles AND your speed. For $5, that's the best bargain around. But please don't spread this speed secret around, as people will stop buying expensive bike chit & therefore our economy will suffer further.

I can handle kms or miles. Just don't ask me to pump my tires up in bar.

The numbers are HUGE!You should go metric. There's lots of cm in a ft.

...I use miles. I live in the US, and everything is miles here. I think in miles, for cripes sake.

Did Grant put you up to this?He did put me up to it, but only by 1 cm. Hardly worth it in inches...

I worked with a guy once who called centimeters "metric inches".

NO need to pump up your tires in a bar. Wait until it's time to leave. :bike:

I keep a pump in the liquor closet at work. Does that count?

I used to think in smiles. :) :) :)

Now I think in bananas.

But seriously I like mm's, they're much more plentiful than cm's and generally don't require the complications of decimals.

Decibels make my ears ring.

Not that I have an earring.

Richie said I could borrow one of his.:D

I played a fun but nasty trick on him once. I told him he keep setting up a jig wrong and to prove it I measured it with my own ruler. He was dumbfounded. What he didn't know is I was using something called a "shrink ruler" that has a shrink correction built in for molded parts. You can get them in whatever percentage you want. I had a 10% shrink ruler making his stuff all appear to be off by 10%. I had him going for a good long time that morning.

Fun with numbers.

Ok, so i changed my computer to kms for the Albany GA road race this weekend and had no idea how fast I was going the whole day. I kept trying to figure it out but my brain was not working so well at the time. It was acctually quite nice not knowing and just feeling.
