Sorry to hear about Buddy, Fixed. Definitely listened to him back in the day.

What do you play? Buddy was a drummer, anything else? What did you play when you played with him?

Cheers from very snowy VT

Don't forget his Electric Flag albums with Mike Bloomfield and Nick Gravenites--dang, what a band!

Love the sound of the B3. Listen to Chester Thompson on Tower of Power's "Squib Cakes." I have an LP they recorded live in the studio - outstanding!

Bummer to hear that. I love his stuff with Hendrix. Powerful without losing the groove.

I have a chopped B3 somewhere over at my brothers house, toured with that thing and a tolex-covered Leslie for several years. Nothing can replace that sound. . . letting that thing rip through a large venue is like nothing else.

Sorry about your buddy Fixed. Maybe we'll jam sometime down the road.

Second career in the 80's when the California Raisens commercials were a pop phenomenom.

I hadn't heard this. Thanks for passing it along Fixed. He was great for a while. Like a lot of white kids, I got into him through Band of Gypsies, but he did a lot more than that. Very cool that you played with him. Sounded like he had his demons later in life - too bad he passed so young.

Edit - just read one of his obits. I forgot about Electric Flag. And I had NO IDEA that the California Raisins were HIS thing. Pretty funny way to re-emerge. Sounds like he got it back together pretty well after he got out of jail. Good to hear.
