I get an email every day from that Steep and Cheap dude. Today's read this:
I heard about something cooler than the Olympics taking place in Jackson on February 27th. It's a Gelande Quaffing competition for the sport that originated in Jackson Hole's village during a 1987 storm. While 14 feet fell outside, stir crazy locals pounded beers at the nearby Bear Claw Cafe so they'd be ready to go the moment they opened the mountain. According to the legend, some Teton local caught a pint of beer that slid past its intended recipient and off the end of the bar. He grabbed it inches from the ground, and then had to slam it since the beer was foaming up. Gelande Quaffing was born, like penicillin, in a moment of drunken brilliance. The sport works like a relay race or crew boat race, only it's way more fun since it involves binge drinking instead of exercise.
Don't know if that link to the YouTube vid works, but here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L9aHdE2Ns-U
That has to be one of the funniest videos I've ever seen. I'm thinking about sending Darren off to Jackson Hole to train!
