Of all the days not to have my sync cord ... oh well. Come Thursday night (or Friday morning) I will have some fun pics to upload.

The highlight: My father-in-law and I managed to procure (don't ask) some race staff shirts and were hanging around the podium when one of the race organizers came up to us and said, "Hey! ..." (when you're guilty, hearing "hey" is not always good.)

But then, he asked, "Are you the two guys here to see Brent?" Uh ... "Sure," I said, lying through a smile. Long story short, "Brent" was one of the top race honchos who needed some volunteers to help with a particularly important assignment. And ...

We wind up wearing security vests and guarding the start-finish line on the podium side. Right ... in ... front. My father-in-law literally stood on the line at the barrier. Unbelievable.

Great finish. Epic day. Everything, from seeing the finish to escorting the riders from the line back to the staging area (I got Ciolek; my father-in-law got Haedo) to watching the podium from right there was memorable.

Sorry I didn't see any of you. But I did see Flux Man again.

FYI: Talked to Tyler at the RR trailer and told him he has many friends on this forum. He said to pass along thanks.

That's a great story! Good for you :D

Will those shirts work for the rest of the race?

Cool!

I rode up Coleman Valley today and watched the race.

After I rode up once or twice and then checked in with the boys and my wife who were watching and headed up just north of the Specialized angel.

Awesome ride.

Jackson Stewart (the lone leader) was hurting on the steeper portions of Coleman and it obviously did not bode well for his chances to stay away ...

BTW, that dude wearing the Levi football jersey with the antlers was wild!

My boys told everyone who would listen today (I saw the big bike race -- they go fast!!!)

Saw Cipo, Fabian & Justin as well ... Justin rocks, finishing with the front group ... yee-hah!

P.S. also saw some babe racers on HSGs in Healdsburg early this AM -- sweet!
