Pay attention here, it get's confusing.

Madone 5.9 - 110 carbon, DA 10 speed

Madone 5.2 - 120 carbon, Ultegra 10 speed

Madone 5.9 SL - 110 carbon, DA 10

Madone 5.2 SL - 110 carbon, Ultegra 10

SL frames are Madone shaped frames but with out the aero lumps on the down tube and seat tube. Early 5.2's will be shipped with 9 speed Ultegra untill the 10 is available. 5.2's will also be available with a Bontrager compact crank.

Pilot 5.9 - 110 carbon in a compact geometry and DA

Pilot 5.2 - 120 carbon, compact geo, Ult 10

Pilot's are a new frame from Trek, they have a sloping top tube and a taller head tube for a more upright riding position but still in a racing geometry. Your local Trek dealer should have a catolog in his hands sometime this week
There is a sneak peak section at www.trekbikes.com but the Pilot's are not there.

Sorry, link no longer works. Go see your local Trek dealer to look at the 2005 catalog (and buy something, please. A waterbottle, a PowerBar, anything.).

Why would the sl without the aero hump cost more?

According to treks site the sl is more.

Why should I buy something from the shop? Just so I do not walk in look at the catalog and leave?

Bill Bove , please explain the hump thing to me too , I don't get it . I think the new Madone is much nicer than the OCLV 5900 it replaced . I like split seat stays and thats my hang up with the looks of the Ottrott ST . Thanks

the jerk mentioned the pilot in another thread, and spoke highly of it. geez, don't tell lance trek has a compact...girlie-bikes! which i guess makes me girlie...or just very senstive.
