Bode Miller and Lindsey Vonn (nee Kildow) are leading the World Cup Alpine Overall Title. First time an American man and woman have both led since Phil Mahre and Tamara McKinney in the 80's.
But even more than that Bill Demong is second overall in the Nordic Combined and Kikkan Randall became the first US woman to win a World Cup Cross Country race.
Nordic event wins for the US are pretty rare although the nordic combined men have been on the podium here and there for the past few years. Bill Koch won a silver medal at Innsbruck.. and I think that is the only Olympic medal ever for the US in cross-country.
