Hey does anyone know if the Campy brake pads labeled "Hyperon Wheels" are in fact for carbon rims (Zipp dimpled rims in this case). I didn't know these were labeled as such until I took the first one off; they came to me on a set of 06 Record brakes.

If not, I have a set of the Mavic pads that came with my Cosmic Carbones to try.

thanks, j

Justin,

These should be for Carbon rims as Hyperons have always had a carbon braking surface.

Yes, the tres-cool Campagnolo Hyperon Ultra (http://www.campagnolo.com/jsp/en/wheelsdetail/item_hyperonultra_catid_11.jsp) wheelset does have a carbon braking surface and carbon-compatible pads must be used.

as i recall, campy offers a different pad for the hyperons as they do for the boras. even the part number is different by a digit.

does that sound familiar to anyone?

thanks bros. I can't think of any reason why these would be labeled hyperon and not be for carbon either. so, on the zipps they go.
