I was just done with my ride and started to head over to the show when I got a text from a friend telling me that no one else could get into the show. What a bummer. At least I got to ride for 3 hours in 50 degree weather.

So even if one possessed a multi-day pass they couldn't get inside? Yikes!

I feel bad for Don Walker.
and any patron who had their bike towed.

"Earlier today, Convention Center staff was threatening to start cutting locks of the hundreds of bikes locked to railings at the building’s entrance. Warning signs that said, “Bikes attached to trees or handrails will be towed” were posted on the main entry doors .

I spent most of the day at the show and the impact of the fire marshall thing seemed to be minimal. I had to wait less than 5 minutes in line to get into the show after lunch.

Dave Thompson made the call to the Fire Marshall. I surmise that he did this so that he could orchestrate a coup of buying all of the 60 cm frames that were displayed, without other buyers having first crack.
