Any inerest in ths???

Independent Fabrication Crown Jewel frame (57) with a very small crack located on the seat tube above the BB...

Original 1" IF Steel Fork (Threaded) in very nice condition...

I also have a used 1" Edge cabon fork that can be included as well.

Frame was evaluted for repair by IF, I am unable to swing the repair bill at this point. They also offered me a sweet deal on a replacement frame, but that is not an option for me right now either... I have several other nice bikes which makes it tough to justify!

I recently purchased this frame Used on eBay in its present condition.

What was IF's quote for the repair/repaint?

What was IF's quote for the repair/repaint?

IF quoted me $875 for full replacement of the seat tube and a complete repaint of frame/fork with new decals applied... They said this was their wholesale price for a repair/refinish of this nature. I am not sure whether this option would be available the buyer of the frame, but I am posting it as an FYI.

This is a 1998 stock 57cm reynolds 853 frame with 1" fork. Top tube is 57 cm c to c and the 57 cm seat tube is measured to center of BB to top of toptube, not top of seat tube. The serial number on this frame is:6880856

Hope this helps...

The serial number on this frame is:6880856
mine is 131C856

so if what they told me is right:
688th frame made that year

0 = dunno (mine has a C for Crown Jewel)

8 = made in 1998

56 = size of frame

Hope you didn't pay too much on ebay. I just sold my Crown Jewel on this forum for around $900 and it was basically as new, an 06 model I believe. Seems to be about the going rate. . .
