I know this is vague and un fit-like, but what are your tt lengths and how tall are you? I am 72" w/ a 57.5 cm tt and a 120 cm stem. I have a 110, and like a shorter reach - but I'm a fashion slave. Liking a 56 cm tt, I am sorting out a possible new rig and was just wondering...Informational only. Thanks

Try the Fit Calculator beneath Brendan's www.competitivecyclist.com.

FWIW (which isn't much): 76", 35" sleeve, 35" inseam. 63x61 Legend with a 1.5cm HT extension and a 110/84 stem fits me great.

I am 6' and have a virtual tt of 57 cm (measured horizontally) and use a 12 cm stem. If you are really concerned about stem length, then you could keep using the 12 cm and get a shorter reach handlebar, I would think.

73" and 58-60cm top tubes. 9-12cm stems. I like my bars as high as my saddle which is at 79cm from bb.

6' tall, 56.75 cm TT, 13 cm stem. I have a comparatively long torso and short legs for my height. I'd like to try a custom with a longer TT.

Isnt there a HUGE part missing in all this equations???

I mean, some people have short inseams-long torsos, some have the opposite and some are normally proportioned...

You (whoever that is) is only getting a small part of the total equation.

For instance, I am 6' 5" (78"), have a very short inseam-long torso and I like my top tube to be 60 with a 130 stem.

Just sayn'

I'd say several things missing - setback, saddle type, handlebar

6ft - 56 tt for me

I'm 6' tall and my Serotta Concours with 57cm top tube fits me fine. I find that a 56.5 cm top tube also fits me fine.

Yeah, I like it
Ugh! Ugh! Ugh!

I'm only five foot one
I got a pain in my neck
I'm looking up in the city
What the hell what the heck

I stare at the concrete
The girders eye high
The steel's above me
There's love in my eyes

And I'm doing the things
A five foot one man can do

I'm only five foot one
I got a pain in my heart
All the night I'm working
In the amusement park

With a bottle of aspirin
A sack full of jokes
I wish I could go home
With all the big folks

And I wish life could be
Swedish magazines
I wish life could be
Swedish magazines
I wish life could be
Anything
Ugh! Aie! Aie! Aie!
Ugh!

I'm only five foot one
Unless the time has come
I won't grow anymore
Anymore, anymore, anymore

'Till I'm losing my head
I'm checkin' it twice
I'm gonna find out who's naughty and nice

And I'm doing the things a five foot one man can do

I wish life could be Swedish magazines(x3)
I wish life could be
Yeah, I wish life could be
Oooooooooohhh
I wish life could be

I wish life could be Swedish magazines
I wish life could be Swedish magazines
I wish life could be

I won't grow anymore(x3)
Anymore, anymore, anymore, anymore, anymore

I'm only five foot one(x3)
I'm five foot one

Many data points are absent, but this is quaulity info - to me. The majority have been pro fitted by accomplished dedicated professionals, so I feel (as an engineer w/ a bio-med interest) I can make a respectable assumption with others data. I know it sounds off the wall, but I feel with my backround (and genetic inabilty to pay for services) I can experiment with positive results. So thanks to the 72" crew! ps my inseam is 34", and the majority of the web based sizing formulas put me on a 57-59 cm tt with a 92-95 cm pedal to saddle hieght.

I am also 72" tall. 57.5 sounds right. But 110 sounds short. How is your inseam? How about your flexibility?

post a photo.

This pictured one has a 57 tt and a 135 stem. Bar reach is also a big factor as is personal flexibility. And seat tube angle and top tube length.

Many factors. What is your goal in cycling? That is also a factor.

Yup. At least half of the = is missing.

I'm 78, and 36 of that is inseam. I have a 59.5 TT with a 120 on the Concours and a virtual 59 with a 130 on the Specialized.

For me, it's about flexibility and my back. Those, I guess, can't be fathomed through mathematics.

Sorry, I'm a midget compared to the rest of you, but I'll post anyway:
66" tall, 535/540mm top tubes, 110mm stems. I have a short torso for my leg length-If I sized my frames by inseam, the top tubes would be too long, so I look for frames with a top tube length I like, and tolerate the extra bar drop.

6' 0"

Depends on type of riding

Race bikes: 57cm, 120 or 56cm 130, 10 cm drop

I can go longer if the drop is not as steep for training/touring.

I was 6' 2" but I lost a foot. (-;
(Inside joke)
I was measued on the Serotta size cycle for 58.5tt with 110 stem.
My current CDA is 57.5 with 120 stem. Fits fine.
I just picked up an tall (59-60) Ottrott that has a 56 tt. (I thought it was a 57 when I bought it). I have a 130 stem on it but still a bit cramped.
Trying real hard to get it to fit since it is a true piece of art and rides great.
But I may have to sell it.

I am 6' 1.75" tall and my current setup is 60X60 with a 100mm stem. My inseam is 35.5". I used to ride 58.5 top tube bikes (merckx, pego) with 110-120 stems depending on the bars. Overall, I prefer a long top tube versus a long stem.
