All those drinks with umbrellas in them have fogged his brain. He's probably retired to some deserted island and forgotten all about us...

Just wait........................not home yet. Don't do pics on vacation. Slow 'net connections here on the beach. Not finished with the Tequila yet. My cigar went out. The whales are breaching. The sun is in my eyes. What other excuses do I have for not spending my vacation on the computer?

What part of 18" of new snow, 5"~8" more predicted for today and tomorrow, temps in the mid-teens would entice me to go home anytime soon?

Being a Chicago-native, I guess all those years of cold frostbit my brain. I've been craving snow, so that forecast sounds good to me! I'm in a warmer climate now and haven't seen a good snowfall in 4 years. :crap:

Neighbors here in La Jolla flew to Portland a couple of days ago to drive their 325ix back here to it's new buyer. Nice timing. At least it's all-wheel drive and he is a very experienced rally driver from Alaska so they have the best chance for a good result. I grew up in Chicagoland and I don't miss fighting snow at all. I still like to ski but that's playtime.

Look at the bright side, at least deep snow makes skiing possible!

Some bright side. You come shovel my snow, I'll let you ski in deep snow my back yard!

The pic of the yardstick you see showing 17" of snow was taken on my back deck, which I had cleared off before I left so I could reach the BBQ. The snow in the backyard is in excess of 24"!

If your backyard just beyond the barbecue has a chairlift that services a world-class ski mountain with a myriad of trails covered in soft powder, we have a deal! I'll bring my trusty shovel!

Seriously though, those were some fantastic vacation snapshots. It's almost an optical illusion how close those cruise ships appear to the shoreline.

The ships are close to the shore, maybe 300 yards or so off the beach. The harbor at Cabo San Lucas isn't big enough to accommodate cruise ships so they anchor out in the bay and the passengers are tendered into the Cabo Marina.

Passed by but didn't go in. A little to, uh, 'lively' for me. Aside from reposing on the ocean view balcony of the palatial Thompson timeshare, my idea of livin' large nightlife is eating at Edith's or Mi Casa, sipping my Tequila and listening to their Mexican musicians.

I did some digging, and have found some interesting stuff. Turns out that all these years Dave Thompson has been been playing an elaborate charade. The attached picture, taken a short while ago at Cabo, shows the real Dave Thompson and "friend." I'm not sure who that grumpy old guy he's been passing off as Dave Thompson really is, maybe it's Dave Kirk. I will continue to investigate.

***** Louis, you outed me! Now I'm going to have to explain what I was doing whilst my wife was in the spa getting her toenails massaged. Already the paprazzi are crowding me asking about 'my friend'.

I'm sending you a steak.

Dave,

This happens every year.

I'm surprised you don't hire a service (or a neighbor kid) to come and shovel out your driveway and sidewalk the day before you get home.
Since you don't...I think you LIKE to shovel the snow.

Not too far from Mr. Thompson. I had to hire a big Caterpillar to dig out. More snow forcast for today!
