View Full Version : OT: do I really need to know this?

This was on the PR Newswire photos this morning. What was wrong with the old procedure? . . . Pick up phone. Order pizza. Go back to TV chair. Wait one hour--if pizza does not show up, call again.

I'd much rather simply have them devote all their energy to actually getting my pizza out their door and to mine than sitting there keeping track of exactly where it is every second. Seems like a tremendous waste of labor. I bet it actually ends up taking longer to get your pizza because the employees have to keep stopping what they're doing to update it's progress!

Jeez, there must be something more important to complain about somewhere around here today! . . .

Late January is a tough time for all of us in upstate NY BBD.

Just remember you're not alone, and things will feel better in a few short months.

(Oh and if they don't get better......there's always Prozac!)

...after you eat it they can keep an eye on where you go for the next 24 hours.

Is Domino's really pizza atmo?

Probably just similar software to UPS and FedEx. If it decreases the number of calls from customers wondering about the location of their pizza, it saves Domino's labor to answer those calls plus it puts a watchdog on the delivery person.

No.

It's not even close.

Although I do have fond memories of downing Domino's with ham and pineapple topping as a drunken frat boy early mornings in Burlington VT.

Is Domino's really pizza atmo?Your definition of pizza depends on where you live. I live in New York City, so I wouldn't call it real pizza.

Wrong again.

Pizza, una insalata mista é una birra con Stefania in Como on the Lago di Como = Campagnolo

The Dominos box is by far the tastiest part of the Dominos Experience.

Saab, how much would a NYC slice cost, via A380 from Dubai ?

Scott G.
$100 burger anyone ?

Do they continue to track it as it passes through your digestive system ?

I love pizza but ATMO Domino's is awful, cloyingly sweet garbage. This system is the equivalent of "Incoming! Incoming! Gut-Bomb on the way!"

I don't get the whole NY pizza thing. Anyway, Emirates doesn't have their 380s yet. They do JFK with their A340-500s and 777s. I think a slice of pizza from NY would be about $5 + S&H, which would probably run about $1000, so figure roughly $1005 for a piece of NY pizza, shipped to Dubai. There would be a slightly lower unit cost if more than one slice were ordered as I suspect the S&H costs would not rise proportionally.

I'll say again, I have had worse than Dominos. Better too. The one I had from some place in a strip mall in Alexandria, VA last April as my hangover cure was horrific. The 'sausage' I ordered was literally just little cubes of something from the slaughterhouse floor. The hangover was gone simply because the pizza was worse than the hangover. Next time I'll go for Pizza Hut.

But the best US pizza I know of is from Stuc's in Appleton, WI. No joke. Hard to believe, but it's the real deal for US-style pizza. Best crust and sauce in the business.

But the best one is from the Pizzeria San Marco about a block away from my old apartment in Agno, near Lugano. That, combined with a couple pints plus and evening of telling lies and starting rumors with Lorenz and René and Marc is about as good as it gets.

I don't get the whole NY pizza thing.Well, Domino's here isn't better than Domino's elsewhere, if that's what you mean.
