i saw the thread about a cat wanting to get his wife a bike but he doesn't think she can ride it .
platform pedals
small gear
ft brake
here is the thing a city fixed is about being on it not only riding it
i use my driveway but a school basketball court works for doing slow speed stuff which most cats don't do on a road bike
bro if i can do it anyone can imho cheers i really dig flat bars right now

Does ft brake = front brake?
What do you like about the flat bars?
I agree that some slow tight turning is a good skill to have in the bag.

front brake yes
flat bars most of my riding (or all ) is in the city so i don't have long streches of road to get in the drops
but flat bars do offer a few hand postion that i use 1) near the stem much like the drop bar feeling but more aero . 2) Off the ends like riding on the hoods . 3) the standard flat bar on the grips .
in the last year i have become fond of the flat bars but i like a lot of drop from saddle to bar so I'm in my old road postion
i hope that helps anyway you know as much about this stuff as me bro
cheers imho
