Tennis. I'd rather a giant Mavic wheel vaporised significant parts of the continent.

The Federer/Tapsarevic 3rd round match was a cracker!!!

10-8 in the fifth.

Kinda wish Janko won. Would have changed his life.

Someone should ask Nadal about Operation Puerto at his next press conference.

Tipsarevic will be winning a lot soon. He's got talent -- and quite a look.

Maybe so. Strange bidness. I know she's playing a bit hurt, but what's the deal with making a pathetically wrong challenge one point (again), while being unwilling to hustle it all of half way over to the sideline for a groundie the next?

I bet Federer or Djokovic will be more nervous. He crushed Nadal, and he's got nothing to lose.

I think novak has dark horse potential, but the day I bet against fed is the day I see the film of his broken leg, or maybe the day he turns 45 -- when he's on I think he's the best I've ever seen (and when dad took me to my first US Open, it was in Forrest Hills, so I've seen a few come and go).

Tsonga taking down Nadal - some of the best tennis i've ever seen.

the guy was on fire - power off both sides, massive serves and sweet drop shots.

moves like he was nearly sleep walking.

welcome to the new most exciting player on tour.

I watched that whole match and Tsonga was simply incredible, freakish power and then sublime touch at the net. Nadal did nothing wrong. If T keeps at this level even The Fed (as Jim Courier calls him on Aus TV commentary) at his best would be under the gun. Tonight (Melb time) the other semi will be a replay of the 07 US Open final with Rog and Djokavic. Rog has been well off his best so far so no slam dunk. Go Rog.

There have been some incredible matches for the whole two weeks of this Aus Open. And did you hear that Hewitt's third round match finished at 4.30 am local time because Federer's long five setter put everything that day back?

What Simon said.

Federer looked listless and kind of depressed and frustrated in his last match, whereas Tsonga looked like he was unstoppable. I don't know who can return his serve, if Nadal couldn't.

Based on his beating Nadal in the way, I don't see a listless Fed stopping him. At this stage who knows if Roger will even make it through his next match, he barely got through this far. I wonder if there's something up with him?

Federer was ill (stomach problems) before the Australian Open and had to pull out of a warm up tournament. This may explain some patchiness thus far. If he wins today and makes it through to the final I think it won't be a one sided match as per the Nadal semi-final. While Tsonga looked pretty good last night, he did make a number of errors that Nadal, because he was so far behind, was unable to take advantage of. I'm not so sure that Federer will give him this opportunity - assuming of course he gets through and brings his A game to the table.
