Check this stuff out: www.thenew3T.com

I liked the 3T bars and stems from a few years ago so I'm excited to see them coming back into the American market. I like that they have both the traditional round and ergo shapes to the bars.
I'm also liking the graphics on these so far. Hear the stuff will be available here later in the spring.

security will have'em in a few weeks. any bike shop should be able to get hold of the new 3t stuff. i'm very impressed except that they don't make a setback seat post or a 140mm stem.

Had the Ergosum in the hands the other day (courtesy from the past Serotta_James) nice ergo bend... similar to the Modolo or the FSA sl-k bar

I'm a big fan of the old 3TTT Forgie bars, because of the way the drops (slightly) flare out. I bought a bunch of them on close out a few years ago, but I suppose it's possible that I'll eventually have to back to the well for new bars...

It's not clear to me whether any of the new 3TTT bars have that flare. It's certainly not something I've ever seen in their marketing materials.

Anyone have any idea? Or am I the only one who cares about this particular design feature?

...but it's coming back like "Motobecane" or any number of others. The name has been sold off by the Italian Columbo group and the new stuff is being made in Taiwan.

Should have visited their website before getting all excited about the triumphant return of a classic Italian cycling equipment manufacturer.

is "rotundo" a good name for a bicycle part?

Keith A
01-23-2008, 12:06 PM
From one of their news articles...

"The current product range is to be discontinued, although stock will still be supplied by Gruppo until March 2008. It will be replaced by an entirely new range, initially concentrating on handlebars and stems, designed in Madone, Italy and manufactured by high-end Asian factories."

Here's the link (http://www.roadcyclinguk.com/news/article/mps/UAN/2597/v/1/sp/) to the complete article.

The past 30 years have seen a plethora of new dropbar shapes,
but the majority of the pros still ride with the pro bend,
the shape 3T pioneered in the 80’s. The pro bend shape has
endured because it offers the rider a sense of control not
found in most other shapes.

wow - i did not know thatmo atmo.

wouldn't it be correct to say that all handlebars used by pros
are 'pro bend' by definition?

yes that's a rhetorical question...

just received this email from Velimpex:

"3T is not in the US yet. The following distributors" (Security and BTI) "have placed orders with 3T and they are expecting to receive the goods during the end of Feb/beginning of March..."

Sincerely,

3T is developing a set back post with a very interesting micro-adjust system. First prototypes will be at the Taipei show. It will likely be available for Aftermarket sale mid-summer.
