Looking for a polished silver stem, for a lugged bike that is slim, around 84degrees of rise, 130/140 length. 26.0 barclamp is fine.
I have a Deda zero in gunmetal and whilst being a handsome stem, is very musculart and seems to overpower the slimmer tubing of a lugged steel frame.

Ive looked at the Nittos and they are quite "thick".
Is their anything with a slimmer gauge that approximates a quill stem look/thickness?.
Opinions are valued.

Check out a Tune Geiles or a Thomson or an Extralite, all 3 have the balance between 'not too thick and not too thin' in respect of steel frames...IMHO :)

I think extralites are available till 120, same as IRD prestige and Nitto silver stems

wow, that's a loooong stem. i had the same issue with outside diameter of the stem matching the tube stock of a vintage frame and went with a salsa cromoly sul stem that i had powder coated silver. if the length worked for me i'd consider the syntace force 139 road ti polished which has the 84deg and 26mm clamp you're looking for:

the salsa is a natural choice, although the silver requirement makes it all very difficult, and perhaps a custom stem would work best.

I use the syntace f99 on 2 different bikes for much the same reasons as you state. In my opinion, with the syntace you can have your cake and eat it too (modern ultralight stem which is reasonably stiff, with great clamp, but also more slender than any other alloy stem I've seen).

thanks all, they all look nice but i smost of them dont actually come in a 140mm

Btw, besides 90degrees, would 84 degrees be the next step. Ive very afraid that 90 degrees would look too flipped

All custom order but ya gotta buy a frame to get a stem - might be worth it.

I have an Ibis Ti threadless for 1" steerer with a 26.0 bar clamp that is close to what you are looking for.I think it is around 13cm with 86 degree angle.I will have to measure it tonight when I get home to be sure. I do know that its polished.

The Ibis Ti measures 13cm and is a -3 degree or 87. I had it custom made for my Calfee back in 1997.If you are interested shoot me an email or pm me.
