CK crown race

I want to put a 1" threaded King Gripnut on an old frame.

The old headset's (generic loose ball bearing) crown race is still on the fork.

Can I use the old crown race, or should I make sure to use a King race?

you absolutely need a 1" CK crown race..they fairly inexpensive $10 or $15 i think...unless you buy the Ti version
