How would y'all suggest I clean up the inside of the seat tube of my frame?

It's Reynolds 531 and the builder claims he reamed it to 27.2. I put an old 27.2 seatpost in and came out scratched to bejeezus. A 27.0 post "rattles" in the bore so I'm thinking the I.D. of the tube is about right but it just needs cleaning up.

I have a few drill/chuck mounted linishing wheels in 60 and 120 grit that I thought I might try.

Your thoughts?

Go to an automotive parts store and buy a brake cylinder hone. It has 3 stones mounted on a metal frame. Chuck it up in the drill and hone the tube. The stones are pretty fine so you'll not damage the tube. Much easier than by hand and does a nice job.

You can use a flex hone,
but you should look inside it, and see if you can tell where the
extra metal is coming from. The 'ears' of the seat bolt area can
be the problem, or other brazing/welding material inside the tube.

If there is something there, you need to have only the unwanted
material removed, not evenly from the rest of the tube.
The best tool is a ream. Someone with experience should do
this job.
