As per the title, my LBS has two sets of tires that look tempting:

Michelin Pro2 Race Service Course - the limited ones in baby blue

Continental GP4000s 'Black Chili'

The Contis are about 10% cheaper, and at least look like they'll stand up to more abuse. They also come in 25mm, my preferred width. I'm replacing some fairly new Vittoria Corsa CXs that seem to have real problems picking up glass (another puncture this morning) compared to the GP3000s they replaced.

Any thoughts? I presume I won't have another chance to get the Michelins, but I don't want to buy them just because they're limited production. I also don't know whether I can rock the colour on my bike....

The test data for rolling resistance shows the Michelin slightly ahead of the Continentals. You can't go wrong with either tire.

Personally, I use GP4000's and Veloflex Pave's.

The LTD edition michelin wear out really, really fast.
1000k and the rear could be toast. Some of my team riders
smoked through a set per week until they made them race only.

If that's a factor, toss it into the decision mix.

Please permit some advice Sandy,

When one goes on sale it's good opportunity, when the other does..not so much.
