OT. Tropical flowers. Any gardeners in the house?

we moved from Manhattan to Sydney Australia for a few years in 06.

i have never really cared about gardening before - not like it was an option in nyc.

a few months ago i planted a few things and are surprised about how excited i am. here's a few shots of our new toys.

any others rockin' a green thumb?

plumeria and hibiscus? If those work there, try a bouganvilla [sp].

Wow! Those colors are gorgeous. The middle one looks like it might be part of the hibiscus family. I do my fair share of yardening, but to grow tropicals like that around here would require a greenhouse,, as it gets a bit too cold and dry in the winter.

How you likin' summer at this time of year? Gotta be interesting having Christmas and it's 28 C outside.
