Lubing Brooks saddle springs

OK,

I've got this Brooks Champion Flyer on my neo-retro mtb. The squeaking of the springs is driving me nuts. Do I just spray some wd-40 on them, being careful not to get it on the leather?

Any other methods?

Yes. I have dripped some chain lube on the springs and that took care of the squeaks.
