So I'm bidding on a NOS set of alloy Chorus-10 ergo levers on eBay right now. The bidding currently is at $407 with an hour and a half to go... Wayyy past my stopping point.

Apparently I'm not the only one who thinks Alloy Campagnolo is the shiznit...

a couple of years ago, I got into a bidding war with a guy over a pair of nib campy super record brakes with the Italian colors pantographed. I basically decided that I didn't care any more what happened, the brakes were mine, so bring it on, sucker. You know the feeling . . . They did go pretty high as I recall, but it's a fun memory.

just minutes ago, i paid $40 for a 1988 shimano catalog,
but i wanted it, since it was the only one i don't have been '71 and 2008.

sometimes you gotta pay the piper if you know you won't see another one.
sometimes you wait.

Not that long ago, I got a set of brand new, in the box 9sp record alloy ergo levers,
and they cost me less than new ones at wholesale. On ebay, you need to know
when to pull the trigger. Prices vary a lot, obviously it depends on who bids,
not what the item is 'worth'.

I bought a used set last month for $210 that look like new. There is also a 9 speed set of alloys that could be converted to 10 fairly easily. The levers on my Merckx are 9 speed that I rebuilt to 10. But I agree the NOS stuff is getting silly money right now :crap: . Frank

I was watching the bidding on those. My 03 record levers on the BLE need a rebuild. I think I will send my old nine speed alloy chorus levers off for a rebuild and conversion to 10 and use them on Emma. I really wish campy would come out with a high end alloy group.

Where are your Delta brakes?

if i had 'em, i'd sell 'em. same thing with the high flange hubs.
I could retire.

no deltas, but lots of silver dual pivots

silver dual pivots could be the new deltas in 30 years and you could retire.

I have a nice alloy record crankset. I currently use a centaur UT because I like the look and the UT design is good. I used to trash a chorus bb every year but if I decided to use the record alloy again I would go with a PW stainless bb.

unfortunately not. but I should have,
since i passed up buying a bunch for $40 each
when the carbon one came out. bummer.

I actually prefer the centaur alloy one from '07
look for that one on sale, campy disco'd it.
I got some for $30.

good call. the PW bb will be around a long time,
keeping the square taper folks happy for the next century
