With the entry of SRAM into the market, Campy and Shimano have to be scrambling to "innovate" and regain market share.

Is electronic shifting nearly upon us?

What will the spring classics bring?

Lots of bark about Hincapie, but no bitmo.

I hope this year is his year. He's fought hard for a long time, and his career has to be winding down.

um.. i'm not sure why you're relating one to the other. both have been in development for years and years and years. the 'with the entry of sram' isn't driving this.... both campy and shimano have considerable marketing/development budgets... and have been toying with this stuff for a long time.
if they can make it and sell it and it will work.. it will come. word is.. that is next year. expect that they've already been talking to some bike makers about designing some features in the frame to go with it.

I don't think SRAM is necessarly driving it, but it might be the last little squeeze on the cable cutters, so to speak.

I'll root for him, no good karma otherwise, but it's Charlie Brown kicking a football with Lucy-syndrome; odds are he'll disappoint.

The classics will bring broken steerers and matching collar bones to a privileged few.

Does anybody have a good source on a confirmation that Campagnolo has in fact declared electronic shifting dead?

or alive?

or Shimano for that matter?

Or will the UCI declare indexing illegal and friction shifters return?

Or will SRAM come out with nuclear powered shifters?

frames that will accept electro.

So now the whole frame is going to change?

Do I smell some forced obsolescence coming?

it depends on what your version of forced is

It does look like there are buttons on the hoods.
maybe there will be remote buttons you can add too someday
