Again, Sherry and I will not be able to attend. We made plans a year ago to ride at the Tour de Palm Springs, which is the same weekend...

One day maybe I will get a chance to meet Dave Kirk, Richard Sachs, etc...But for now, it will just have to be via e-mail and telephone calls.

I hope everyone attending has an amazing time and that the Forumite dinner on Saturday night will be as big a success as it was last year in San Jose!

here's my modest proposal:

campy sets up an on-line direct sales thing like fi'zik. anyone in the world can order from it at the same price.

Atmo, it's a nice place. It's now owned by a big seafood chain so the menu has changed. It used to be more French. Philippe Boulot is a great chef, and has been written up in the Times. I took one of my X's there once, and it was lovely.

I'm glad you were both well served. It got bought out right as I left. I'm sure breakfast is still good. Dinner, I'm not sure about. I think it went down hill when I moved on, but that's what everyone says after they leave a place, right?

E-richie, if you want a real portland fine dining experience, walk up the street to Higgins. It's rated top 50 in America; they cure their own meats, etc.; Greg (Higgins) learned how to cook by riding his bike all over Europe and stopping to work in small kitchens.

That's a (high-end) but awesome place to drink too. They have a great bar and Andy the bartender is a surly, but great guy. Lots o' belgian and PNW beer.

Our college game was the venerable 100 Club: one shot glass of beer every minute, no spewing or going to the head a-tall or you're DQ'd. AKA you have roughly 100 minutes to live.

Ah, the old Century club....my recollection was it was either a shot of beer/minute for 100 minutes, or alternatively 100 12 oz. beers in a specified period of time (a week?).

oh god I kinda remember that game. My whole fraternity would play that. 100 shots of beer is about a 12pack iirc. 12 beers in 100 minutes is no easy task. I rememebr most of us had to use the trash cans strategically placed at the ends of every table.

Saw a kid literally drink himself to death my freshman year. was doing shots of tequila instead of beer, something like 17 shots in 17 minutes and well, body couldn't take it. At least that is what the paper said afterward.
