While at the track today I saw a new Landshark with the asymmetrical seatstays. The guy who it belonged too told me that John Slawta swears it makes the rear end stiffer. It didn't look as bad in person as it does in some of the pics. Slawta can do some pretty nice fillet work.

well, whatever. count me among those who don't get it. I mean, not only don't get it, but don't want to.

and who wants a stiffer rear end????????????

I agree with you 100 percent. The guy who owns it is a really big sprinter type of guy and I know he wants a really stiff rear end.

That, stiffer than a tetrahedron. Color me... doubtful?

Whatever you say my friend. I have ridden a tetra and it was a nice ride.

The design doesn't appear visually attractive to me. I fail to see how it would be beneficial to the rider from a performance perspective.

The seat stays actually smooth the ride because the impulses traveling from the rear wheel hit the seat tube a millisecond apart spreading the impact. Plus it makes the rear stiffer. And the bike accelerates quicker.

Just kidding. Actually I can't feel any difference at all. It's not like I ride in a crotchless neon clown suit with rainbow afro wig because of some deep seated need for attention. I've had a lot of bicycles over the years and just wanted something different on the fixie. Most people don't even notice it riding around town.
